Designing A Website Yourself
Once you have purchased your domain name, it is possible to design the webpage yourself. Nowadays, doing this does not even require that you know HTML! There are web site creation engines that allow you to design your own page, at a relatively low cost. However, when you use these creation engines, it will often say that you used a creation engine for your website. This can be a downside, for some types of businesses.
There are a variety of different web site creators, some charge much more than others. Most will charge a monthly fee, as opposed to the yearly fee for many domain names. Web site creation engines can vary in price, from nothing, to a significant monthly fee. Each creation engine has it’s own unique features, and it is best to look into each creation engine to find the one that best suits your needs.
It is actually possible to use a free creation engine! Google has a website called Blogger.com. This allows users to build their own websites for free! However, this does have disadvantages. Flexibility is somewhat limited with Blogger.com. It simply does not have certain features, and the features that it lacks could be important for you.
Another creation engine is a site called Weebly. Weebly.com charges a small fee and offers a significant array of features. You can upload photos, create links, and do other much needed functions for your website. This site charges a relatively inexpensive fee, which is about 3.50 a month for the basic package. It’s about 25 for a “premium” package.
There are also other website creator sites on the internet. They vary in price and the features that they provide. It is a good idea to shop around and look at different website creation tools. Try to find one that particularly suits what you need for your business’ site.
Don’t just focus on the price. Getting a cheap creation engine may seem appealing in the short term. However, if it does not have the features that you need, you will likely be left with a poorly designed website. Before settling on a website creator, make sure it has exactly what you are looking for. If need be, it is likely worth it to pay a bit more. In the end, having a well designed web page will be well worth it financially.
If you know HTML, this is a big advantage. However, if you don’t, you can learn it. If you have time on your hands and are thinking about designing a website, learning HTML may be the way to go. It can be tricky to learn, but it is well worth it. Once you know HTML, there will be no limit to what you can design with your website. You can add text boxes wherever you would like, you can add images wherever you like, and you will not be limited by the constraints of a website creation engine. However, it can take a significant amount of time, and some people find it too confusing to really get a grasp on.
